Transportation

Streeterville is the area between the River, the Beach, the Lake and Michigan Avenue’s Magnificent Mile. The closest “L” stop to Streeterville is Chicago and Grand on the Red Line. If you’re driving, take Lake Shore Drive until Grand Avenue or the Navy Pier exit. For those using the bus system, buses are available going North/South on Michigan Avenue and East/West down Grand. However, the neighborhood’s proximity to most of Chicago’s workplaces, shopping, and dining make walking often the easiest way of getting around.


Dining

One of Chicago’s most successful urban areas, Streeterville is synonymous with all that makes Chicago great. As with most luxury neighborhoods, the restaurants are fantastic. Between hotel restaurant mainstays and neighborhood favorites, Streeterville does not disappoint. Streeterville offers a number of exquisite options. Tru, Spiaggia, Coq D’Or, Rosebud, and The Capital Grille raise the bar even further in catering to the exacting epicurean. If you are craving a more affordable, fast-casual options, look no further than Blaze Pizza, recently opened and already a neighborhood go-to. The original Gino’s Pizzeria also calls the neighborhood home, but know that deep dish demands 30-45 minutes, and the line is often out the door! For sports and pub life, look no further than Timothy O’Tooles and its cavernous downstairs, but D4 Irish Pub has the market cornered on inventive pub cuisine. After a long night out, try brunch favorite Yolk, but be prepared to fight the crowds...



Entertainment

There’s no shortage of things to do and places to see in Streeterville. For a little bit of retail therapy, go check out the massive Water Tower Place. Chicago’s biggest tourist attraction Navy Pier hosts fireworks Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer, and shoreline sightseeing cruises depart from there as well. The Museum of Contemporary Art holds over 6,000 pieces, an amazing assortment of art. The collection is housed on three floors, and the building features a beautiful sculpture garden overlooking Lake Michigan. A majestic grand staircase at the top of the museum’s entrance offers a panoramic view of the Chicago skyline. If the great city skylines are more suited to your taste, try visiting the world famous Signature Lounge, located on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Building.
