Streeterville
There’s no shortage of things to do and places to see in Streeterville. In the summer, the lakefront has many events going on, including the Air and Water Show, sailboat exhibitions, and numerous festivals. For those wanting a view of the city from a little higher up, the Hancock Observatory offers sweeping views of the city and ice skating (Photo 1) from 94 floors up in the sky! For romance, horse-drawn carriage rides are available outside the Old Water Tower (Photo 2). For a little bit of retail therapy, go check out the massive Water Tower Place.

Chicago’s biggest tourist attraction Navy Pier hosts fireworks Wednesday and Saturday nights during the summer, and shoreline sightseeing cruises depart from there as well. The Museum of Contemporary Art (Photo 3) holds over 6,000 pieces, an amazing assortment of art. The collection is housed on three floors, and the building features a beautiful sculpture garden overlooking Lake Michigan. A majestic grand staircase at the top of the museum’s entrance offers a panoramic view of the Chicago skyline.
