River North
If the restaurants aren’t enough, the entertainment and nightlife in River North puts this neighborhood in elite category. To start, we recommend seeing a concert at the historic House of Blues (Photo 1). It has big name acts that come through Chicago in a fairly intimate setting. River North is also home to the most famous design collection in the country, the Merchandise Mart, along with many other design galleries. It has the second largest concentration of art galleries in the United States next to Manhattan.

River North draws some of the largest crowds to its establishments on weekend nights. If you’re looking for a bite to eat and a night spot in one, we recommend checking out neighborhood hot spots such as Hub 51, Bull and Bear, Sunda (Photo 2), Paris Club, and Rockit (Photo 3). All four feature phenomenal dining, reasonably priced drinks and great times.
