Lincoln Park
The bar scene in the area is great. Unleash your inner rock star at Stanley’s live-band karaoke on Sunday nights. John Barleycorn’s (Photo 1) is a Lincoln Park institution and one of the better bars in the city, and is surrounded by plenty of other bars, making it an ideal place to start the night off. State is always a hotspot, with plenty of TV’s, bar trivia every Tuesday night, ($800 dollar first prize!) and half-price food and wine on Wednesdays. River Shannon (Photo 2) is always a great time with a classic saloon feel, fresh free popcorn, and a human-sized Jenga set. Another fun place is Gaslight Bar and Grille (Photo 3). Tucked neatly into the Wrightwood area near DePaul, this local bar has great food and a cozy atmosphere.

If you are looking for a college atmosphere, check out local DePaul bars such as Kincaid’s or McGee’s. For the Northeastern transplant or those just missing their liberal arts education, go by Tripoli Tavern. Finally, if dancing is what you are looking for, try Beaumont’s, though it is more of a late night hang out.
