Bucktown/Wicker Park
The nightlife in Wicker Park and Bucktown is varied and abundant. Whatever it is you may be looking for, you’ll probably find it here. The neighborhood is especially known for the large population of musicians and artist that call it home.
If you are in the mood to catch a show, try either Subterranean (Photo 1) or the Double Door (Photo 2). Both of these venues are intimate midsized concert halls and the bands that come through them range anywhere from local indie bands to mainstream monsters, such as the Smashing Pumpkins. If you’re not quite ready to jump into the concert scene, walk on over to Smoke Daddy’s (Photo 3), a barbeque shack by day that features live jazz and blues acts by night. If you are a fan of art, there are dozens of galleries spread around the area for you to enjoy.
